This November, Tactus SF will present a concert of Renaissance music written by people on the fringes of society. Featuring the music of ethnic and religious minorities (Lusitano, Rossi, Byrd), some of the first women to have their music published (Assandra, Aleotti, Casulana), immigrants and indigenous peoples in the New World (Zumaya, Franco, Lienas, don Franco), and convicted criminals (Phinot, Gombert, Gesualdo), we celebrate the voices of the marginalized and oppressed.
